Shaquille O'Neal Admits That This Is His First Time Ever Voting

During his 20-year NBA career, Shaquille O'Neal did it all on the court, winning four NBA titles and earning a spot in the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame. But there is one thing he hasn't done so far.

That’s right. The 48-year-old O’Neal admitted this week he had never voted before the 2020 election.

“I’m honest, I’ve never voted in my life. This is my first time voting. ... I’ve never voted before, America,” Shaq said Wednesday on The Big Podcast. “But, now I’m doing all these voting campaigns and ya know one thing I never like to do, is be a hypocrite."

O’Neal averaged 24 points and 11 rebounds during his career, and was named NBA MVP in 2000. O’Neal suited up for six teams during his two-decade run in the NBA: the Orlando Magic, Los Angeles Lakers, Miami Heat, Phoenix Suns, Cleveland Cavaliers and Boston Celtics.
