Former President Barack Obama is on one of his longest press runs since leaving office. Within the last few weeks, the former President has sat down with interviews on 60 Minutes, The Breakfast Club and Axios. Now, he's continuing his run with another high profile interview.
The former U.S. Senator is setting up to sit down with three-time NBA Champion Stephen Curry. The duo will discuss his new book, marriage, the current political climate and much more.
Curry and Obama have become good friends over the last few years. The two have played golf together, planned voter initiatives together and met up at the White House following the 2015 NBA Finals. Most notably, the two hosted the MBK Rising event for young, Black men in Oakland last year. Both Curry and Obama discussed the ups and downs of being a Black man in America.
"We had to be able to say to them, ‘you matter, we care about you, we believe in you and we are going to make sure that you have the opportunities and chances to move forward just like everybody else’,” the former President said.
The two men will come together yet again to continue this conversation and expand upon other timely topics. Curry and Obama will virtually face-to-face today at 4:30 p.m. on Instagram Live.
