Jemele Hill, Marsai Martin And More To Host ABC's 'Soul Of A Nation'

ABC has announced the launch of their latest primetime newsmagazine, Soul of a Nation. The new series will highlight a new generation of Black leaders while discussing issues of cultural and political importance. Throughout the new series, ABC's lead anchors and correspondents Janai Norman, Steve Osunsami, Byron Pitts, Pierre Thomas, Linsey Davis and T.J. Holmes will host episodes. Along the way, ABC will also invite Jemele Hill, Michael Wilbon, Marsai Martin and several others to host episodes. Not to mention, Carmelo Anthony, Deon Cole, Nick Cannon, Saweetie, Chris Paul and many others will make guest appearances.

“We’re excited to expand enterprising Black storytelling and the celebration of Black culture beyond the month of February,” Soul of a Nation Co-Executive Producer Eric Johnson said.

“Viewers of all backgrounds, regardless of race, will be moved, educated and inspired by the broad range of stories and topics shared on this show.”

The six-episode series will kick off in March. Episodes will air on ABC on Tuesdays before heading over to Hulu.

“It’s time,” Soul of a Nation Co-Executive Producer Robe Imbriano added.

Soul of a Nation arrives as the country is eager for a show like this, and the mix of intimate and insightful storytelling with performance will bring some serious joy.”

Soul of a Nation is the latest special project from ABC. In recent weeks, the network has put together a special documentary chronicling the Capitol Hill riots that took place on January 6. More recently, the network launched a documentary highlighting the rise of OnlyFans during the COVID-19 pandemic. Much like Soul of a Nation, both projects landed at Hulu.
