Omar Sy is set to reprise his role as Assane Diop in the second installment of the thrilling series, Lupin. Diop is a legendary thief and master of deception who is looking for answers in the mysterious death of his father. As he pursues the truth, he faces stiff opposition from one of the most powerful men in Europe, Hubert Pelligrini. Under the assumption that Pelligrini is responsible for his father's death, the two men engage in a violent game of cat and mouse that put the one's they love most in harm's way.
"Assane's quest for revenge against Hubert Pellegrini has torn his family to pieces. With his back to the wall, he now has to think of a new plan, even if it means putting himself in danger," Netflix writes.
Lupin stands out as one the only French series on Netflix that is led by a Black actor. Trending in the same direction, Netflix is set to roll out its first Italian series centering around Black life. Zero will follow the story of young, Black Italians seeking to save their neighborhood.
"A shy boy who used to feel invisible develops an extraordinary superpower that takes over when he meets a group of friends intent on saving their neighborhood. Making it only together. Love, the desire to pursue dreams, the power of friendship. This is Zero, the new Netflix original series," the streaming platform wrote.
Antonio Dikele Distefano, Beatrice Grannò, Haroun Fall and several other young Italian talents will star in the series. It is set to hit the streaming platform in April. As for Lupin, it will return to Netflix this summer on an unidentified date.
