Actor Isaiah Stokes has been indicted and charged with murder following a fatal shooting in Jamaica, Queens earlier this year.
“The defendant is accused of unloading nearly eleven shots during this brazen afternoon shooting. Gun violence is all too prevalent in our neighborhoods. We will not allow it to become the norm," Queens District Attorney Melinda Katz said.
Stokes has been tied to a shooting that occurred on February 7, 2021 at approximately 2:45 p.m. Video surveillance shows a man exiting a parked car near the intersection of Linden Boulevard and 200th Street and then approaching a white Jeep Grand Cherokee. As the individual approached the white Jeep Grand Cherokee, they let off eleven gunshots that killed a 37-year-old man by the name of Tyrone Jones.
Following the shooting, the New York Police Department opened an investigation that was led by Michael Naus and Daniel Connors. Stokes has been identified as the primary suspect, but authorities have not publicly outlined what Sokes' motive for the murder would have been.
Stokes is an actor who has been in the limelight for nearly 15 years. He was first seen in Cam'ron's "Killa Season" video and went on to appear in Boardwalk Empire, The Americans, Louie, Blue Bloods and Law & Order. He last appeared on Power as Mozzy in 2019.
Stokes nor his attorney have issued a public statement regarding the matter.
