Video of a classroom attack surfaced online Friday (November 19) showing a white high schooler hitting and threatening a Black teacher in Fort Worth, Texas.
In the now-viral clip, posted to Twitter, an unidentified white Castleberry High School student can be heard cussing at and eventually hitting the Black educator during the incident.
The video was taken by another student in the classroom and shows the white student walking up to the teacher's desk as the educator attempted to make a call from the phone at her desk. The student reaches over, and disconnects the call, and slaps the educator's arm hard enough to be heard in the footage.
"No, no, no," the teacher says in the clip. "You touched me, I did not touch you."
As the teacher walks away, the student picks up the phone and starts dialing numbers. "No, I'm calling my mama! You ain't about to f**k me up, b***h!" the student yells, snatching back the phone and places the call.
"You want to talk to her? Cuz she's Black and she's f––g pissing me off right now!" the students says into the phone before violently slamming the phone's receiver to the ground in the teacher's direction.
The school district responded to the incident on Monday (November 22), confirming they are aware of the situation and have involved local law enforcement, "because criminal activity occurred."
"We first want to commend the teacher for the calm demeanor and utter professionalism she demonstrated throughout the entirety of the incident, even when the situation turned violent and offensive. We support this teacher and her response in the strongest terms possible. Because criminal activity occurred, the District immediately turned this matter over to law enforcement. In addition, the District is conducting its own investigation," the statement reads in part.
