A group of white teenagers were caught on video wearing blackface in a Sephora store.
In a now-viral TikTok video, a Sephora employee appeared to be confronting an adult accompanying a group of minors who were walking around the store giggling and wearing blackface.
The TikTok user who recorded the incident said they were "genuinely disgusted and disturbed" by the group's actions.
"My teammates and I arrived in Boston for a track meet this weekend and walked around Sephora before dinner to kill time," the user captioned the video. "These group of teenage girls and their mothers come in and go to the makeup section to use samples for blackface whilst giggling and making animal sounds."
When the Sephora employee confronted the group, a mother dismissed her and walked away, according to the TikToker. The user added that two mothers asked them to delete the video because "they didn't consent."
Social media users expressed outrage over the incident.
"The mother was there and did nothing?!?!?!" one user commented.
"Wow, I’m speechless. The hate is being passed down, so sad," another chimed in.
"What in the Jim Crow is going on in Boston!! 😡🤬" a third person said.
The identity of the teenager and adults involved remains unclear. Sephora hasn't publicly commented on the incident as of Monday (February 12).
