The Lion King is one of my favorite animated movies of all time. I am really looking forward to seeing the live action when that hits theaters this summer. This new theory, however, has me thinking some crazy things.
We all know who Simba's father is. The mighty Mufasa. The big question that many people have is who is Nala's father?
In nature Lions tend to have prides where the strongest males fight to mate with the females. Scar is sort of part of Mufasa's pride I guess, though he's clearly an outsider. So is Scar Nala's father?
According to this new theory from BuzzFeed the answer is yes.
I don't want to believe that this is true but that have some solid evidence.
- Nala and Scar both have green eyes
- Female lions in nature are drawn to males with darker manes and what does scar have?
- Roger Allers and Rob Minkoff, the directors of the 1994 Lion King said in 2004 that Nala's father was either Mufasa or Scar
If that last point is true, and it probably is, that means Simba and Nala are cousins or siblings and the whole movie just got weird for me.
