22-Year-Old Woman in Chicago Dies of COVID-19

A 22-year-old Chicago woman has lost her battle with COVID-19. Nyla Moore was the youngest of six children. Her mother says even though she was the youngest, Nyla was the leader of the family: the party planner, the family DJ. She excelled academically and impressed her teachers at Simeon Career Academy.

On April 10 Nyla was diagnosed with COVID-19 at Rush University Medical Center. She spent 3 weeks on ventilator. According to her mother, her condition was improving when she took a sudden turn for the worst. Her parents were on their way to the hospital on May 1 when they received a call that Nyla had passed.

Nyla is survived by her 2-year-old son, Erik.
