Barack Obama Congratulates Joe Biden & Kamala Harris On Historic Win

Joe Biden has been projected to win the presidency of the United States of America. With this win, America marks history by electing Kamala Harris as the first woman, first Black and South Asian woman to take the seat of the Vice President.

This historic win was fought for mightily. Pennsylvania, Biden's birthplace was the state that pushed his lead over the finish line to gain 273 electoral votes, and counting.

Joe Biden made history for earning the most votes in the history of presidential elections. Over 144 million Americans voted in this election, with the Biden-Harris earning over 74 million of those votes.

President-elect Biden tweeted a thank you to the American people, promising a presidency for all, not just those who voted for him.

Former President Barack Obama sent a congratulatory message to his former vice president. "Congratulations to my friends," the 44th President wrote.

Former First Lady Michelle Obama also sent a sweet message to Biden and Harris, writing on Instagram, "I’m beyond thrilled that my friend Joe Biden and our first Black and Indian-American woman Vice President, Kamala Harris, are headed to restore some dignity, competence, and heart at the White House."

Democratic colleagues of Biden and Harris in the House and Senate also reacted to the monumental win on social media. They sent congratulatory messages, and shared in their excitement to get to work for all Americans.

While final counts may take several more days to complete, the projected president-elect also took the time to send messages of calm and unity.
