Rep. Cori Bush Says Marjorie Taylor Greene Has Not Issued Her An Apology

Rep. Cori Bush said that Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene has still not apologized for berating her earlier this month while at the United States Capitol. During an interview with Trevor Noah on The Daily Show, the freshman congresswoman also shared that she was committed to "calling out" Greene for her past behavior and hopes that it will eventually lead to "reformed" behavior while representing a section of Georgia in Congress.

Bush made these comments after a confrontation between her and Greene. Greene reportedly removed her mask and began verbally attacking the congresswoman. After the incident, Bush reached out to congressional leadership and asked that her office be moved to a new location.

"A maskless Marjorie Taylor Greene & her staff berated me in a hallway. She targeted me & others on social media," Bush tweeted last week.

"I'm moving my office away from hers for my team's safety. I've called for the expulsion of members who incited the insurrection from Day 1. Bring H.Res 25 to a vote."

The incident was part of a larger pattern of behavior exhibited by Greene. Over the last few months, she has openly supported QAnon theories, called for the impeachment of President Joe Biden and harassed a survivor of the Parkland school shooting. She went as far as to support social media posts calling for the execution of Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi.

In response, members of the House of Representatives moved to remove her from all committees. Greene was also asked to issue an apology before the U.S. House of Representatives. However, her statement did not appear to issue any direct apology toward Bush.

Moving forward, Bush and other members of Congress plan to call out Greene. Rep. Jimmy Gomez has taken the first step by putting forth a resolution that would remove Greene from Congress completely.

“Her very presence in office represents a direct threat against the elected officials and staff who serve government,” Gomez stated.

"It is with their safety in mind, as well as the security of institutions and public servants across our country, that I call on my House colleagues to support my resolution to immediately remove Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene from this legislative body.”
