A Florida man decided to act as his own lawyer in a trial where he's accused of killing his girlfriend and 9-year-old daughter, according to Complex.

Reporters said 32-year-old Ronnie Oneal III is facing the death penalty for allegedly shooting his girlfriend, 33-year-old Kenyatta Barron, before beating her to death when he ran out of ammo. Prosecutors also claim he slew his disabled daughter Ron’Niveya Oneal with a hatchet. Oneal's son, 11-year-old Ronnie Jr., was the only survivor of the 2018 attack that happened in Riverview, Florida.

“By the time it’s all said and done, you will see who is the mass murderers,” Oneal yelled at jurors during his opening statement on Monday (June 14). "This whole entire case has been tampered with and fabricated. My son did not witness me viciously beat his mom to death."

The young survivor, who was allegedly burned and stabbed by his father, testified via video conference on Wednesday (June 16). "My dad killed my mom," he said.

When Oneal questioned his son, he reportedly asked “Did I hurt you the night of this incident?” Ronnie Jr. replied, "Yes. You stabbed me." The boy admitted that he didn't see his father kill anyone but claims he saw enough to know what happened.

Prosecutors also played 911 call recordings from the day of the incident, where Barron can be heard pleading for her life and saying, “I’m so sorry, I’m so sorry—help me,” according to WFLA.
