It's been a long time coming, but the time has come. After an entertaining episode of Succession, Issa Rae's Insecure returned for the first episode of its fifth and final season. For those who have not watched the first episode of season five, now would be a good time to click away. For those who have watched "Reunited, Okay," let's get into it.

The first episode of season five takes us a few months into the future. Molly is working her way past her split from Andrew and Issa is still figuring out her career path. At the same time, the two are still figuring out how their friendship may evolve moving forward. In fact, Molly is so unsure about her friendship with Issa that she turns to Kelli for advice. While comical, Kelli's advice does hold a lot of truth. She explains to Molly that she's run into issues with Tiffany in the past, but she had to let the friendship naturally build back over time. In short, it's a process. Fortunately, Molly and Issa seem to have taken the first few steps toward getting back on the right track when they realize they both need each other to get through this rough patch in their lives. There's also the part about them bonding over getting robbed by an old college "friend" at the liquor store.

Beyond the central Issa-Molly storyline, there's also an interesting look at Kelli and her role within the series. Somehow, Stanford University was under the impression that she died. Throughout the reunion weekend, she learns more about what people think about her when she's not around. Through it all, she's her usual hilarious self, but it's clear that she wants to be remembered for more than her humor. In a way that only her friends can, Tiffany, Molly and Issa deliver heartfelt eulogies of her while she's sitting nearby to show that they think of her as more than comic relief.

Then, there's that part about Lawrence. After returning home from the reunion, Lawrence picks Issa up from the airport. While everything looks fine, there's a bit of uneasiness during their drive home. Ultimately, Issa breaks the news to Lawrence that she'd like to move on as he prepares to have a child with Condola.
