The story behind the viral, hilariously heart-warming text one grandma mistakenly sent on Thanksgiving in 2016 is officially coming to Netflix.

"You not my grandma ... Can I still get a plate tho?" Jamal Hinton texted back to Wanda Dench five years ago –– the rest is in Twitter tradition history.

As you probably already know, Wanda mistakenly texted Jamal thinking it was her grandson. When Jamal asked to still get a plate, Wanda replied in true grandmother fashion.

"Of course you can. That's what grandma's do ... feed every one 🍰," the viral text reads.

Jamal tweeted Thursday (December 2) that the true story behind the viral wholesome saga will be told through a deal with Netflix.

"I am very excited to announce our new partnership with Netflix," Jamal wrote. "We thank every single one of you for your love and support in our journey the last 6 years. We can't wait to tell our story on the big screen! 🎥 🍾 "

Every year since 2016, Wanda and Jamal pose for their annual photo to let everyone know the tradition is still going strong.

In 2020, the newfound family lost Wanda's husband, Lonnie Dench, to Covid-19. They held a safe dinner in his honor that year and posed this year with a piece of artwork that honors his memory at the holiday.
