In the fallout from the Supreme Court's leaked draft opinion, Georgia Governor candidate Stacey Abrams is urging her supporters to put their money towards abortion rights rather than her campaign.

On Wednesday (May 4), Abrams asked her donors to “consider donating to these five orgs working for reproductive freedom in Georgia," according to her Twitter.

Feminist Women's Health Center, SisterSong, Planned Parenthood Southeast, Access Reproductive Care (ARC) Southeast, and NARAL Pro-Choice Georgia made Abrams' list of abortion rights organizations to support. The gubernatorial candidate said these organizations are “doing critical reproductive rights and reproductive choice work in Georgia.”

Abrams said all of the proceeds towards her campaign would go to the work being done to fight for reproductive justice.

This move follows Monday's (May 2) leaked SCOTUS opinion that revealed justices voting to overturn Roe V. Wade, a landmark case that protects the right to have an abortion.

In response to the potential overturn, Abrams tweeted on Tuesday (May 3), “As a woman, I am enraged by the continued assault on our right to control our bodies + our futures.” She continued, “ As an American, I am appalled by the SCOTUS breach & its implications. As the next Governor of Georgia, I will defend the right to an abortion and fight for reproductive justice.”

Campaign funds have been a hot topic in the Georgia governor race. Despite Republican criticism of her fundraising efforts, Abrams' campaign announced on Wednesday that it had raised $11.7 million in the past three months, the Associated Press reports.
