U.S. News put together a list of the top college universities in the country and one Bay Area college made the Top 10!
Stanford University in Stanford, CA tied for the #3 best colleges in the U.S. alongside Yale and Harvard. Princeton was ranked #1 in the country, followed by Massachusetts Institute of Technology at #2. The Top 10 colleges are all coincidentally private institutions.
According to U.S. News, Stanford's highly ranked programs include: the School of Education, the School of Engineering and the School of Law. The university is also ranked #6 in Best Colleges for Veterans and #36 for Best Undergraduate Teaching. Tuition and fees reportedly cost $56,169.
Additionally, University of California, Berkeley tied with University of California, Los Angeles for #20 and Santa Clara University was ranked #55. San Francisco University was ranked at #105 in the country.
