My " Super Fun Action Packed" Weekend in Pictures

It's good that I had an extra hour to rest this weekend. There was so much going on! On Saturday the church I'm a member of had one of my favorite events. Spuds and Dogs is something the United Methodist Church of Matamoras has done for a very long time. When they do it it's the best lunch in town. Grilled hot dogs, real oven baked potatoes and just about anything you can image to top them with. The topping table had: Chili, cheese, butter, onions, sauerkraut and sour cream. I'm not too complicated. The crunchy skin and fresh butter was all I need to enjoy my baked potato. The best part of the afternoon for me was taking my grandson Christopher. He had a great time eating his hot dog and playing with all the children.

Then it was on to Sussex County Community College for our Christmas Music Kick off Party. The first stop for the kids from the Merriam Avenue School chorus was the Frederick's Fuel Tent. Where my friend John Roberts had a festive array of holiday treats waiting for them. Their performance was wonderful. I've never worn shorts to a Christmas Music Kick off party but this year I did. My co-host Steve Allan even wore sandals. I'll spare you a close up picture of his bare toes.

On Friday my grand daughter Gracie turned 7. Have I really been a grandpa for 7 years? I was up early Sunday morning helping Kim get everything ready for the after party at my house. Gracie's official party was at a local bowling alley. Seeing a bunch of 7 year old kids trying to bowl was not easy to watch. It was a combination of danger (bowling balls flying all over) and trying crazy fun with cake, pizza and full of energy kids running all over the place. I used to be a serious bowler. My heart went out to the other serious bowlers who were at the Port Jervis bowling alley yesterday. When the bowling alley fun was over the party continued at my house where a 3 foot hero and the rest of the birthday cake was waiting. This morning I feel like the guy in the old Alka Seltzer commercial: "I can't believe I ate the whole thing." I hope you enjoy my pictures this week.
