A University of Kentucky student was arrested after she was caught physically attacking and hurling racial slurs at two Black students in a video widely circulated online, NBC News reports.

On Sunday (November 6), 22-year-old Sophia Rosing, who is white, was arrested at a campus dorm on charges of intoxication in a public place, assault, and disorderly conduct, according to records from the Fayette County Detention Center, where she is currently being held on a $10,000 bond.

Video of the attack shows Rosing, who appears to be intoxicated, using racial slurs as she hits a Black student working at the front desk of Boyd Hall, a UK dorm.

"Could you stop?" the victim asks as she attempts to restrain Rosing, per the video.

"Nope," Rosing replies.

"I do not get paid enough for this," the student says as Rosing calls her a racial slur.

In the video, another Black student joins the victim and tries to put Rosing in a chair. Rosing throws a punch at the second student and then attempts to kick the first. It is unclear if she struck either.

A police officer ultimately handcuffed Rosing as she continued to spew racial slurs and struggle to stay standing, per the video.

University President Eli Capilouto said in an email that the student employee "acted with professionalism, restraint, and discretion." Capilouto added that the school's Office of Student Conduct was launching an investigation into the assault and that its Student Success teams "are reaching out to the student victims who were subject to this behavior to offer support."

"To be clear: we condemn this behavior and will not tolerate it under any circumstance," he said in the email. "The safety and well-being of our community has been — and will continue to be — our top priority."

When asked if Rosing was still enrolled at UK, a spokesperson said university officials “don’t speak to student disciplinary processes while underway," per NBC News.
