iHeartMedia Chicago To Host 9th Annual 'Sista Strut Pink Celebration'

iHeartMedia Chicago has announced the return of its ninth annual “Sista Strut Pink Celebration,” presented by Your Local Ford Dealers, on Saturday, October 4.

The 3k breast cancer walk will benefit Sisters Network Chicago, Inc., a Black breast cancer survivorship organization dedicated to raising awareness, supporting survivors, and promoting early detection in the African American community.

This year’s event is a collaboration among several of Chicago’s top stations, including 107.5 WGCI, V103, Inspiration 1390, 103.5 KISS FM, 93.9 LITE FM, Rock 95.5, and Chicago’s BIN 640 AM.

“The ‘Sista Strut Pink Celebration’ has become a staple in the Chicagoland community,” said Kashon Powell, Vice President of Programming for iHeartMedia Chicago. “It is a privilege for the iHeartMedia Chicago team to walk alongside Sisters Network Chicago, Inc. and the community to bring awareness to breast cancer early detection and treatment. Together we can make a difference and walk for hope, healing and a cure.”

The event will be hosted by Shirley Strawberry of The Steve Harvey Morning Show; Bioncé Foxx, midday host on V103; Sonya Blakey of Inspiration 1390 and V103’s Get Your Praise On; KeKe Hampton, contributor for The Fred Show on 103.5 KISS FM and weekend host on 107.5 WGCI; and Val Warner, anchor of ABC7 Chicago’s Eyewitness Morning News and co-host of Windy City Weekend. ABC7 Chicago is the exclusive TV partner for the celebration.

The walk will kick off with family-friendly entertainment and giveaways from sponsors before participants “strut” together in support of the cause.

“Sisters Network Chicago, Inc. and iHeartMedia Chicago have built a strong, enduring partnership centered on raising awareness about breast cancer in the African American community,” said Annie Jones, President of Sisters Network Chicago, Inc. “Now in its ninth year, the walk not only celebrates survivors, but also promotes early detection and education with proceeds supporting Sisters Network Chicago’s outreach and survivor support programs. Together, Sisters Network Chicago and iHeartMedia Chicago have transformed their relationship into a powerful force for change — one that continues to inspire, educate, and mobilize the community in the fight against breast cancer.”
