Wanda Sykes used her Golden Globes look to speak out against Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) following the Minneapolis killing of Renee Nicole Good.

On Sunday (January 11), Sykes attended the 83rd annual Golden Globe Awards at the Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills, wearing a white pin that read “BE GOOD” in tribute to the 37-year-old mother who was fatally shot by an ICE agent earlier this week. Actor Mark Ruffalo and other celebrities were also seen wearing the pin in solidarity.

“Of course this is for the mother who was murdered by an ICE agent, and it’s really sad,” Sykes told Variety on the red carpet. “I know people are out marching and all today, and we need to speak up. We need to be out there and shut this rogue government down, because it’s just awful what they’re doing to people.”

Good was killed during large-scale ICE raids in Minneapolis, which were launched amid intensified rhetoric from President Donald Trump and his administration targeting Somali immigrants.

According to an official description, the #BeGood pin campaign aims to honor Good as well as Keith Porter, a man reportedly killed by an off-duty ICE officer in Los Angeles on December 31. The campaign also seeks to “remind us what it means to be good to one another in the face of such horror — to be a good citizen, neighbor, friend, ally and human.”

Organizations involved in the #BeGood campaign include Marmot, MoveOn, the National Domestic Workers Alliance, Working Families Power, and leaders across the entertainment industry.
