A confrontation inside a CVS pharmacy is drawing widespread attention online after a viral video showed a white woman berating customers and employees while attempting to cut the line.

The clip, which began circulating on social media earlier this month, shows the woman demanding service while several customers — many of them Black — were already waiting at the counter. The video was originally shared on X with the caption, “Experienced my first Karen today."

In the footage, the woman can be heard repeatedly shouting for her medication while standing near the pharmacy counter. A Black male customer who was in the middle of a transaction told her to wait her turn, prompting a tense exchange.

At one point, the woman reportedly moved forward and placed her purse on the counter in front of the man, appearing to try to bypass the line. The customer pushed the purse aside and told her she could not interrupt his transaction.

“You don’t put your bag where I am,” the man said in the video as the situation escalated.

Other customers in the line also spoke up as the confrontation continued. The woman later threatened to call the police after being told to wait like everyone else.

“Call the police,” the man responded in the video. “We can get you arrested.”

During the exchange, the woman also directed insults toward a Black employee, who was assisting customers at the counter. The employee, who remained calm throughout the interaction, told a manager she did not want to engage with the customer and preferred to assist someone else.

“I don’t want to deal with this character,” she told a manager. “It’s like she is fighting me, and I don’t want to deal with that. I’ll deal with somebody else.”

The incident reportedly began after the woman became frustrated while trying to enter her personal information on a sign-in screen required before customers can receive pharmacy service.

Customers in line said everyone was required to complete the same process.

Eventually, the woman left the pharmacy area. It is unclear whether she was asked to leave by store staff or security.
