The Houston Police Department is currently reviewing all cases involving former police officer Ashley Gonzalez, who was fired after a video of her racist rant against Black people went viral.

Gonzalez was officially terminated from the Houston Police Department on April 24, following the discovery of the video, according to Fox 26 Houston.

"The behavior exhibited by Ashley Gonzalez was abhorrent, disgusting, and entirely unacceptable," Houston Police Chief J. Noe Diaz, Jr. said in a statement posted to X. "It is deeply disturbing and has no place in law enforcement or in our community."

In the video, Gonzalez can be heard saying “I f****g hate n****s,” and references an off-duty encounter where she suspected a Black youth was trying to steal her purse while at a restaurant with her friend.

“I had my f***cking wallet next to me, my whole purse, and that little f***cking small a** chimp decided not to f***cking steal my wallet,” she said. “I don’t know what came over me, but I grabbed that n***a by the neck and said, ‘Come here, you f***ing n*****er.”

The Harris County District Attorney’s Office told Fox 26 Houston that it is currently reviewing all cases involving Gonzalez.

"Racism is abhorrent; the fact we have to lead the statement with this is disgraceful," the office said in a statement. "The Harris County District Attorney’s Office Conviction Integrity Chief has already begun the thorough, analytical process of reviewing every case involving former Houston police officer Ashley Gonzalez. We take seriously our ethical obligation to notify defense attorneys regarding her discipline effecting open cases."
