Former Philadelphia Eagles star Terrell Owens is demanding that NFL Network analyst Michael Robinson apologize to quarterback Jalen Hurts on air, arguing that a social media apology isn’t enough after Robinson questioned Hurts’ commitment to the team amid his blood clot diagnosis.

“Say your comments ON AIR as you did the DISRESPECT!” Owens wrote on social media. “This is where getting TOO CUTE with the commentary GOES WRONG!!”

During an appearance on NFL Network’s NFL GameDay Kickoff last Thursday (October 16), Robinson suggested the Eagles were using Hurts’ injury as an excuse for the team’s struggles, according to Heavy, whose article was republished by Yahoo Sports.

Robinson questioned whether the team was trying to pin the outcome of its season on Hurts to create a reason to move on from the quarterback.

On Tuesday (October 20), Robinson apologized to Hurts, his family, the Eagles organization and the team’s fan base in a social media post.

“I want to sincerely apologize to Jalen Hurts, his family, the Philadelphia Eagles organization and fan base for my comments last Thursday,” Robinson wrote. “They were unfounded and I never should've speculated on a health issue of a player nor his commitment to his team.”

USA Today reported that Hurts was diagnosed with deep vein thrombosis and blood clots in both lungs. The Eagles said his prognosis was very good and that he was expected to make a full recovery, but he will miss the remainder of the 2026 season.

Owens, who played for Philadelphia during the 2004 and 2005 seasons, has made clear that Robinson’s social media apology is not enough. He wants the analyst to address his remarks on the same platform where he made them.
