Arkansas Police Chief Resigns After Calling For Violence Against Democrats

The police chief of Marshall, Arkansas, resigned after making numerous violent posts on Parlor. Lang Holland made multiple posts claiming the election was being stolen from President Donald Trump and calling for violence against Democrats. He also shared memes associated with the conspiracy theory QAnon.

"Death to all Marxist Democrats," Holland wrote in one post. "Take no prisoners leave no survivors!!"

"When this is over and Trump is president for 4 more years," he said in another post. "Do not go to sleep. Do not forget what these Marxist Democrat bastards have tried to do. When you see one in public get in their face do not give them any peace. Throw water on them at restaurants. Push them off sidewalks. Never let them forget they are traitors and have no rights to live in this Republic after what they have done."

After officials in Marshall learned about the posts, Marshall Mayor Kevin Elliott met with Holland to discuss the posts. During their meeting, Holland offered his resignation.

"Upon my meeting with Mr. Holland he resigned as Police Chief for the City of Marshall effective immediately," Elliott said in a statement. "Mr. Holland is no longer employed with the city."

Elliot condemned Holland's comments and assured the public that the police department serves all members of the community.

"The City of Marshall strongly condemns the actions of Mr. Holland in his posts to social media," Elliot wrote in the statement. "The Marshall community does not in any way support or condone bullying or threats of violence to anyone of any political persuasion...the Marshall Police force is here to serve and protect EVERYONE."

Holland also made news earlier in the year when he refused to enforce a statewide mask mandate.
