A Los Angeles family said they were targeted with racist graffiti on their vehicle.

According to Atlanta Black Star, the family's red Ford Mustang was spray-painted "Merry Christmas, N******" at some point between Christmas and New Year's Eve.

The racist vandalism also included swastikas on the bumpers and other forms of graffiti on the car. Photos also show that the family's tires were slashed.

The family said they experienced similar instances of harassment and are concerned for their safety.

Reginald Scott believes the latest harassment was in retaliation for the family parking in front of someone's home. However, the family believes the reasoning still doesn't justify the crime.

“Even if you’re parked where you’re not supposed to be, I don’t think that gives you the right to spray paint somebody’s car and call them a racial slur. That’s hurtful,” Scott's son said.

Paul Frias, one of Scott's neighbors, said the incident is "just wrong."

“They flattened the tires, they damaged it,” Frias said. “It’s just something you don’t want to see every day because ‘What if that could’ve been my vehicle?’”

Scott's wife she is especially concerned for the safety of their 12-year-old son.

“She doesn’t want the doors to be unlocked. She’s pretty much on high alert,” Scott said.

“We also, no longer feel safe. It would be so wonderful to have the community support us through this difficult time and help us move and recreate the peace our household once had,” he added.
