A woman has the internet buzzing after she said her date made her pay for her own food because she didn't look like the photos she posted online.

In a now-viral video, TikTok user RedCookie229 detailed her "first date gone wrong."

“I just finished my date, and I am so embarrassed,” the Tiktoker said in the video.

The woman explained that she matched with a man on BLK, an online dating app for Black people, and they agreed to go on a date together. When she arrived at the "expensive" restaurant the man wanted to try, the TikToker said she noticed her date was looking around.

The TikTok user said she approached the man to introduce herself in person.

“He was looking around like he was looking for somebody else,” the woman said in the video. “I was like, ‘Hey, I’m Tia,’ and he was like, ‘Tia?’ and I’m like, ‘Yeah. It’s me from BLK.'”

Tia noted that she was wearing a dress and her natural hair in a parted hairstyle, but she said she still looked like the pictures she posted on her BLK profile.

According to the woman, the man asked her to sit down, but her date didn't smile back when she smiled at him. Tia said the man told her she didn't look like her pictures.

“I do look like my pictures. I don’t Photoshop anything. I tell everything how it is,” The TikToker said as she showed her followers pictures she uploaded on the dating site.

“He was like, you know, just being so quiet during the meal. He didn’t even want to pay,” she said.

Tia said her date ended up paying for the bill at the restaurant, but he later asked for his money back.

“On CashApp, he sent me a request to pay for the food,” The TikTok user said. “I don’t understand. Why are men like this? Men are evil!”

The TikToker provided more photos of what she wore on the date and the pictures she posted on BLK. However, social media users were quick to call out the woman for "catfishing."

"I meannn He was bamboozled sis," one person commented on the video.

"Ma’am..you catfished him," another TikTok user chimed in.

"You did catfish him but you are still a beautiful woman," a third user said.

Others offered their support and dating advice for Tia after her "first date gone wrong."

“So sorry you feel bad, but yes, men are very physical. Just try to doll up when on dates you got this!” one TikTok user wrote.

“Hey, Tia. Just wanna let you know that you’re beautiful. You seem kind, and no one deserves blatant rudeness. Hope you find your person,” another said.
