Joe Biden Pledges To Distribute 100 Million COVID-19 Vaccines In 100 Days

President-Elect Joe Biden has pledged to distribute 100 million COVID-19 vaccines in his first 100 days of office. Biden added that Americans will be required to wear masks on flights and in federal buildings for the foreseeable future.

“As a new president, I’m going to speak directly to the American people,” Biden said.

“We need your help. Wear a mask for 100 days. It’s the easiest thing you can do to reduce Covid cases, hospitalizations, and deaths.”

Biden is preparing to take office during the worst portions of the COVID-19 pandemic. Last week, COVID-19 related hospitalizations topped 100,000 in a 24 period and nearly one American died per minute due to the virus. As a result, businesses have tightened health guidelines and schools have been forced to close.

“We did not get into this mess quickly, and it’s going to take time to fix,” the President-Elect added.

“But I am convinced that in 100 days we can change the course of the disease and change life in America for the better.”

Biden believes that following such guideline during his first three months in office will allow the country to reopen schools, restaurants, gyms and begin to return life to normal. He has created these goals with the help of Dr. Anthony Fauci. The infectious disease expert has said that the country can get back to normal by the fall with Biden's strict guidelines and an effective vaccine.

"I think we can get back to a considerable degree of normality, but it’s going to depend on the uptake of the vaccine," Fauci said.
