Twitter Drags Nikki Haley For Hypocritical Tweet About Kamala Harris

More than a decade ago, Arizona State University Football Coach Herm Edwards was asked to deliver the keynote speech at a seminar for NFL rookies. During his remarks, Edwards keyed in on the benefits and harms of social media. In a now-viral clip, Edwards told the rookies that if they have to think twice about what they're about to say, "don't press send." While this speech has reached many over the years, it clearly has avoided a few politicians. One politician in particular, former South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley, failed to heed Edwards' advice and ended up in a sticky situation because of it.

As the Memorial Day weekend was getting started, Vice President Kamala Harris posted a photo with the caption, "Enjoy the long weekend." According to FOX News, this tweet angered many of her critics who felt that she should've honored fallen soldiers with her tweet instead of telling others to have fun on the three-day weekend. Joining in, Nikki Haley responded to the tweet by calling the Vice President "unfit" and "unprofessional."

One day after her initial tweet, Harris issued a lengthier tweet in which she paid homage to fallen soldiers. She also spent a portion of her weekend delivering the commencement address at the U.S. Naval Academy's spring graduation ceremony. Meanwhile, Haley posted a tweet that seemed to contradict her initial criticism of Harris. On May 31, the former governor posted a photo of her and her son with the caption, "Thankful on this Memorial Day for the blessings of family and spending time with my little one." Unsurprisingly, a number of Twitter users called her out.

In all likelihood, this will not be the last time that Haley and Harris are linked together. If former President Donald Trump were not to run for President in 2024, oddsmakers currently list her as the odds on betting favorite to receive the Republican National Committee's nomination. On the opposite end, Harris is listed as the favorite to earn the Democratic National Committee's endorsement if Biden does not run for re-election.
