Nipsey Hussle’s estate is suing several business entities for selling fake merchandise bearing the logos of the late rapper’s popular brands.

According to multiple reports, the lawsuit was filed by Nipsey’s brother and estate administrator, Samiel Asghedom, and accuses several e-commerce sites, they believe to be based out of China, of peddling the fake Marathon clothing.

Asghedom says the “Double Up” rapper’s estate reserves trademark rights including the “Crenshaw” logo for clothing and another clothing line, “South Central State of Mind, among others, but the sites are using the logos without permission. The sites have also employed similar tactics –– similar checkout processes, accepted payments, ads, and more –– linking them to one another, the lawsuit says.

The lawsuit was filed in Illinois federal court after the estate discovered customers there were allegedly being specifically targeted. The estate is seeking for a judge to order the domain names being handed over and a massive amount in damages –– either all the profits made from selling the fake clothing with the registered trademarks or $2 million per trademark infraction.

Nipsey Hussle, born Ermias Asghedom, was fatally shot March 31, 2019 outside of his Marathon Clothing store on Slauson Avenue in Los Angeles.
