The LA District Attorney's Office announced Thursday (May 5) that it will be declining felony charges against the man who stormed the Hollywood Bowl stage Tuesday night (May 3), tackling comedian Dave Chappelle.

"After reviewing the evidence, prosecutors determined that while criminal conduct occurred, the evidence as presented did not constitute felony conduct," a spokesperson for the District Attorney's Office confirmed to The Hollywood Reporter.

"The District Attorney's Office does not prosecute misdemeanor crimes within the city limits of Los Angeles," the statement continued. The case was sent to the Los Angeles City Attorney's Office for further review and possible misdemeanor charges.

LAPD spokespeople told multiple news outlets the man, identified as 23-year-old Isaiah Lee, was armed with a replica gun that can deploy a knife blade when deployed properly. Video captured by people in attendance shows Lee rushing on stage towards the end of Chappelle's set at the Netflix Is A Joke festival. After dropping Chappelle to the ground, Lee ran to the edge of the stage where he was apprehended and detained by security.

Lee was subsequently arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon before being taken to a hospital for medical treatment.

Authorities said Chappelle was not injured in the incident, described by the comedian as "unsettling." Chappelle is reportedly cooperating fully with the investigation into the incident.
