Newly released footage from Justin Timberlake’s 2024 DWI arrest is drawing renewed attention — not just for the incident itself, but for a moment in custody that’s now sparking conversation online.

The video, taken during Timberlake’s arrest in Sag Harbor, New York, shows the singer reviewing paperwork with officers when he appears to make a brief comment about race.

“White?” Timberlake says while looking at the document, before quickly adding, “I’m just kidding.”

The remark, though short, has caught the attention of viewers — with some questioning the tone of the moment, especially given the broader context of how interactions with law enforcement can differ across communities.

Elsewhere in the footage, Timberlake appears to try to keep things light.

After being told he would be held overnight, he responds, “All night? Yo, you guys are wild.” In another exchange, he declines to take a chemical test, telling officers, “No, I’m not doing the chemical test… I don’t mean no harm.”

But the video also shows more serious moments during the stop. According to authorities, Timberlake was pulled over after allegedly running a stop sign and veering out of his lane. Officers said he had difficulty completing field sobriety tests, which he described at the time as “really hard.”

At one point, Timberlake expresses frustration with the situation.

“You boys treating me like I’m a criminal,” he tells officers.

The footage, which was first shared by TMZ, was released months after the case was resolved. In September 2024, Timberlake reached a plea agreement for a lesser offense, resulting in a $500 fine and 25 hours of community service.

The arrest initially made headlines last year, particularly after reports that Timberlake identified himself during the stop and suggested the situation could impact his tour.
