Sarasota County is home to Florida's highest ranking high school, according to the U.S. News and World Report.
Pine View School for gifted students came in at #15 nationally on the new rankings which were just released on Tuesday morning.
The state's next three best high schools are all in South Florida.
They are:
School for Advanced Studies Homestead at 2nd best in the state.
School for Advanced Studies South in Miami at third best in the state.
International Studies Charter High School, also in Miami at fourth best in Florida.
Those schools also rank among the Top 50 nationwide, as does the state's fifth best high school, Stanton College Preparatory in Jacksonville.
Two Palm Beach County schools slipped in the publication's rankings.
Suncoast Community High School in Riviera Beach remains the county's highest ranked high school and is among the Top 100 nationwide, but it sits at #88 this year, which is down from #61 a year ago.
Dreyfoos School of the Arts in West Palm Beach fell from #80 nationwide to #110.
Suncoast is 11th best in the state and Dreyfoos comes in two spots later.
The publication revamped its rankings this year, expanding the field from 2,700 schools to about 17,000 around the country.
