LeBron James Makes A Major Investment In Emerging Tequila Brand

Four-time NBA Champion LeBron James is celebrating his 36th birthday by making power moves off of the fourth. Recently, James announced that he and his business partner, Maverick Carter, had invested in Lobos 1707 Tequila. The agave spirits brand was founded by former Deleón executives Dia Simms and Diego Osorio. With Simms and Osorio leading the way, James and Carter hope that the brand will be a major player in the spirits industry.

“I knew the first time I tasted Lobos 1707 Tequila that it was special,” James said.

“Lobos 1707 is about celebrating the strength of the group and bringing people together. It’s about shared passion and values. I love sipping Tequila with my friends, and we want a brand that speaks to us."

James and Carter are not the only celebrity investors looking to support the growing brand. James' teammate, Anthony Davis, and three-time NBA Champion Draymond Green have invested in Lobos 1707 Tequila. Rounding out the group of five, sports agent Rich Paul has also back Lobos 1707 Tequila.

“Lobos 1707 is a premium brand, and our distinctive aging process meets the need of an accelerating category,” Simms said.

“After first trying Lobos 1707, I fell in love with the liquid and brand history. We have an incredible liquid, beautiful packaging, and a proud legacy. Our vision is to reach our customer community through our values as well as our products.”

Lobos 1707 Tequila launched during the pandemic, but is growing rapidly. It is currently available in New York, Florida and California. Customers in other markets can grab the drink through online stores.
