A woman is in critical condition after being shot in the chest on the U.S. Capitol grounds, according to multiple outlets.
As supporters of President Donald Trump stormed the U.S. Capitol on Wednesday (January 6), a woman was seen on video being treated for a gunshot wound as paramedics moved her on a stretcher out of the Capitol. Details on the circumstances of the shooting have not been released.
The breach of the US Capitol building forced the Senate to evacuate during its ceremonial counting of the electoral votes that confirmed President-elect Joe Biden's win.
Representatives and Senators as well as Vice President Mike Pence and Vice President-Elect Kamala Harris were moved to undisclosed locations.
