Michelle Obama May Have Stolen The Show With Her Inauguration Day Outfit

The inauguration of President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris will take center stage this morning but, former First Lady Michelle Obama may just steal the show. Arriving moments ago, the former First Lady turned heads with her incredible outfit. Rocking an eggplant-colored jacket with a gold belt and black mask, cameras couldn't help but take a few pictures of the bestselling author. Not to mention, her hairstylist, Yene Damtew, did an incredible job with her hair.

With the world watching, social media went wild for her outfit. From Russell Wilson to Natasha Rothwell, everyone marveled at the former First Lady's fashion choice.

For those who are unfamiliar, this may have been a surprise. However, those who have been following Obama for more than a decade know that she is one to make a fashion statement wherever she goes. From the exclusive Balenciaga boots she wore in 2018 to the all-white belted dress she sported on the Today show, the Princeton alum has proven to be one of the most fashionable political figures in recent American history.

Obama does not simply put together iconic outfits for the sake of taking pictures, but she has also helped propel the careers of several designers. The one-shoulder gown she wore to the Inaugural Ball in 2009 helped kickstart the career of successful designer Jason Wu. She also helped launch the career of Thakoon Panichgul when she wore her Radzimir kimono dress as her husband delivered his first presidential election acceptance speech. Not to mention, she has championed designers from her hometown, Chicago, like Maria Pinto.

In the hours ahead, expect Michelle Obama to pose for the cameras a few more times.
