Issa Rae Teams Up With The City Girls For 'Rap S---' On HBO

Issa Rae has announced that she is working on yet another new project with HBO. The critically-acclaimed actress, director and entrepreneur has revealed that she is developing a show called Rap S--- for HBO Max. Adding on to the announcement, Rae announced that Insecure writer Syreeta Singleton will be a showrunner for the show. Making the announcement even more exciting, Yung Miami and JT of the City Girls have signed on to executive produce the series.

"This is the progress that happens when we invest in each other. So when we [are] screaming #BlackLivesMatter...this is what it means to me. We have to be good to [ourselves]. F--- everybody else. Lead by example. This is how we established real power. Thank you, queen," Singleton retweeted.

Rap S--- is the latest show to land at HBO Max following Rae's announcement regarding Insecure. After five seasons, Rae's first television series will come to an end later this year.

“Prentice and I are so grateful that HBO believed in our show from the beginning and kept faith in us to see our vision through the end,” Rae said.

“We always planned to tell this story through five seasons, but we couldn’t have made it this far without the tremendous support of our audience. I feel blessed beyond measure to bring our characters’ stories to an end, on-screen at least.”

Rae will not only be producing Rap S--- for HBO Max. She will also be producing Windsor Hills and Him or Her for the premium cable network. At this time, there is no word as to when Rae's trio of new shows will debut.
