Michael Jordan Provides $10 Million Donation To Open Two Health Clinics

Michael Jordan has offered $10 million to open two health clinics in the state of North Carolina. Situated in the greater Wilmington, North Carolina area, the two health clinics will be operated by Novant Health and will serve marginalized communities. Expected to open later this year, these health clinics will provide primary care, social support service and behavioral health assistance.

"Everyone should have access to quality health care, no matter where they live, or whether or not they have insurance," Jordan said.

"Wilmington holds a special place in my heart, and it's truly gratifying to be able to give back to the community that supported me throughout my life."

This is not the first time that Jordan has partnered with Novant Health to open a health clinic in an underserved area. Last October, Jordan and Novant Health opened their second health clinic in the Charlotte area.

“We are thrilled the North End community of Charlotte will have access to the same comprehensive care that is transforming lives at the Novant Health Michael Jordan Family Medical Clinic in west Charlotte,” Novant Health CEO Carl Armato stated.

“I’m so proud of the positive impact our clinic has had on the community so far, especially during COVID-19. Our second clinic will provide critical services to improve the health and lives of more Charlotteans, which is so important to me and to Novant Health," Jordan added.

Beyond working to open health clinics, Jordan has donated $2 million to Feeding America and $100 million to social justice organizations. Not to mention, he started a NASCAR team with Bubba Wallace over the summer.
