Former NFL Star Chad Johnson Says He'll Fight On Mayweather-Paul Undercard

Former NFL star Chad "Ocho Cinco" Johnson shared some interesting news this morning. Speaking to former NFL stars Channing Crowder, Brandon Marshall and Fred Taylor, Johnson revealed that he will be making his boxing debut on the undercard of the boxing exhibition between Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Logan Paul.

"I got a phone call about four days ago with an opportunity that presented itself and it was one that I really couldn't pass up. I mean I could pass it up, but why not [do it]. Everything in life I'm good at. I'm not even bull-------- y'all. Everything in life I'm good at except for golf. I can't do that s---," he told his friends and podcast co-hosts.

"Floyd's manager, Leonard Ellerbe, hits me and says, 'Listen, man, I've got an opportunity for you. You know Floyd's fighting on June 6th at Hard Rock [Stadium]. Man, the opportunity is there if you want to do few rounds with us. You have history with us as far as training in the offseason when you were playing. You can get in there and make a cool million by doing a few rounds."

Johnson did not reveal who his opponent was, but he did say that he accepted the offer. He also announced that his boxing moniker would be Chad "Sweet Feet" Johnson. It is also not the first time that he has flirted with the idea of fighting on the undercard of a major Mayweather Jr. bout. In 2017, he tweeted that he wanted to fight on the undercard of the Mayweather-McGregor bout in Las Vegas, Nevada.

At this time, Johnson nor Mayweather Promotions have shared the name of his opponent. Furthermore, Mayweather Promotions has not yet confirmed Johnson's statements. If and when the fight is confirmed, Johnson will take his talents to Hard Rock Stadium on June 6.
