Quinta Brunson, Tyler James Williams Star In The 'Abbott Elementary' Teaser

Around the country, students are cheering as the school year comes to a close and summer break begins. However, students at Abbott Elementary are just stepping foot in the classroom for the first time today. In ABC's Abbott Elementary teaser, Quinta Brunson and Tyler James Williams play the role of school teachers navigating the halls of an underfunded, unconventional school environment. Through their work, they encounter an 8-year-old student who loves the movie American Gangster, a 70-year-old social studies teacher that feels Kanye West should be president and toilets that flush in reverse. Somehow, someway they find a way to laugh through the pain and make it all work.

Abbott Elementary's one-minute teaser is one of the funniest to come from the network in quite a long time. The comedic stylings of the preview can be attributed to the show's creator, Quinta Brunson. Brunson rose to prominence last decade through her Instagram series, Girl Who Has Never Been on a Nice Date. She's also worked at BuzzFeed, done voice work on Magical Girl Friendship Squad and appeared in the HBO series, A Black Lady Sketch Show. Next month, she's set to release her first book, She Memes Well.

Williams has also found success in television and film. He is best known for portraying a young Chris Rock in the hit series, Everybody Hates Chris. More recently, he's made appearances in Dear White People, Detroit and The United States vs. Billie Holiday. He also appeared on A Black Lady Sketch Show with Brunson.

Abbott Elementary is set to debut on ABC later this year. The network has not set an exact date for its release, but it is expected to have a premiere date in midseason. For now, viewers can only wait and watch the hilarious teaser.
