Arguably the one of the biggest songs of the summer, “Essence” by Nigerian artist Wizkid has had all of us in our warm weather feelings. Well, the song, which features the sultry melodic greatness of singer Tems, is reportedly getting a remix –– with Justin Bieber.
Wizkid posted on his Instagram stories, all but confirming the “Peaches” singer had laid vocals for the remixed version of the song and later hinted that the remix could arrive as early as Friday (August 13).
According to Pulse Nigeria, Wizkid is not only remixing the mega hit, but also delivering a deluxe version of his latest album, Made In Lagos. The outlet reported the deluxe version is set to be released later this month, just before his Made In Lagos Tour kicks off.
“Essence” is currently sitting at No. 67 on Billboard’s Hot 100 chart, earning Wizkid yet another crossover certified banger. In 2016, he was featured on Drake’s “One Dance,” marking his first Hot 100 debut and No. 1.
He snagged his first Grammy for Best Music Video for his widely-successful collaboration on Beyoncé’s “Brown Skin Girl.”
