Lil Wayne has been sure to show how grateful he is to the police officer who got him to the hospital after the rapper attempted suicide at 12 years old. Now, the officer is sharing a generous offer he received from the rapper years ago.

After Wayne’s recent appearance on Uncomfortable Conversations, TMZ caught up with the officer, known fondly by the rapper as “Uncle Bob,” and shared that the rapper offered lifetime financial support, if the first responder ever needed it.

According to the outlet, the generous offer came about in 2019 after Wayne ran into Uncle Bob at a New Orleans radio show. Wayne told the man who got him life-saving medical attention if he ever needed help, to just let him know.

The outlet reported that Uncle Bob, whose real name is Robert Hoobler, hasn’t taken Wayne up on the offer, though the two are in talks about him joining the “Uproar” rapper’s team in an administrative role. Details about the role are reportedly still being worked out.

Wayne opened up on a recent episode of Emmanuel Acho’s series, revealing details about his childhood suicide attempt and his struggle with mental health through the years.
