Eager Black Panther fans received a nice surprise over the weekend as the first images of the sequel leaked on the internet. Fans of the Marvel superhero caught a glimpse of Dominuqe Thorner, the former If Beale Street Could Talk star playing the role of Ironheart. Wearing jeans and a gray t-shirt while carrying a backpack, Thorne does not appear to be doing anything of note in the first two photos. The second pair of photos show Martin Freeman playing the role of Agent Ross. Much like the first two photos, Freeman does not appear to be engaged in a plot-revealing scene at the time the photos were taken. Still, the photos were enough to get the fans going with plot theories and unsolicited comments.

Photos of the Black Panther: Wakanda Forever set arrive online as the film begins production in both Boston and Atlanta. Most recently, Letitia Wright, best known for her role as Shuri, suffered an on-set accident while shooting in Boston. She suffered minor injuries and is expected to resume filming very shortly.

“Letitia Wright sustained minor injuries today while filming a stunt for Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. She is currently receiving care in a local hospital and is expected to be released soon,” a Marvel spokesperson told Deadline.

Production is expected to continue through the fall en route to a July 2022 release. At this time, July 2022 is expecting to be a busy time for major Black films. Not only will Black Panther: Wakanda Forever debut in July 2022, but Jordan Peele will also release Nope starring Keke Palmer and Daniel Kaluuya. Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson will also make his debut in the DC Universe as Black Adam alongside Aldis Hodge. Which movie are you looking forward to most in July 2022?
