Gregg Leakes, the husband of TV personality NeNe Leakes, died Wednesday (September 1) at the age of 67.
"Today the Leakes family is in deep pain with a broken heart. After a long battle with cancer, Gregg Leakes has passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by all of his children, very closed loved ones and wife NeNe Leakes," the family's spokesperson said in a press release, per PageSix.
"We ask that you pray for peace and strength over their family & allow them to mourn in private during this very very difficult time," the statement continued.
Over the weekend, the Real Housewives of Atlanta star revealed her husband was "transitioning to the other side," and received an outpouring of support from friends and fans on social media.
Gregg was first diagnosed with stage 3 colon cancer in 2018 and went into remission after undergoing six months of chemotherapy. In June, NeNe revealed that his health deteriorated and the cancer had returned.
"I'd love for everybody to pray for Gregg, that would be beautiful. Pray for his strength," she said at the time. "And pray for me too."

The couple first married in 1997 before divorcing in 2011. Gregg and NeNe remarried in 2013. They share 22-year-old Brentt together.
Brentt shared an emotional message online following the news of his dad's declining health.
"Spend time with your loved ones every chance you get. Time so ... valuable dog. I can't express it. I'm learning the hard way watching my day fight every day. Please go make memories with ya people," he said earlier this week.
