Police officers and medical professionals are still assessing the damage done during a violent incident at a grocery store in Collierville, Tennessee.

FOX 13 in Memphis reports that a Tennessee resident called the police at approximately 1:30 p.m. to report that an armed individual had entered the store. Four minutes later, officers arrived and found 13 people were injured and one person was killed. Reports also suggest that the gunman shot and killed himself after opening fire in the store.

From there, officers began clearing the aisles and assessing any further damage. Officers are also examining the shooter's personal belonging and his car, which was reportedly found near the shooting. At this time, police have not identified the shooter or uncovered what his motive may have been

“This is the most horrific event to happen in Collierville history," Collierville Police Chief Dale Lane said.

After fleeing the scene safely, a Kroger employee named Glenda McDonald briefly described her experience while speaking with USA Today.

"I just ran out the door," McDonald said.

"I left my purse, my keys, everything."

As the shooting took place, McDonald believed she saw a bagger and a few customers hit before she exited the store. However, she was unable to quantify exactly how many people were shot.

More details will be added to this report as the story unfolds.
