Actor-comedian-singer Jamie Foxx recently revealed he's ready to tap into the horror genre on the silver screen.
In an interview with Men's Health magazine, the Just Mercy actor, said he's already written at least two movies, one of them being a remake of Stephen King's 1987 novel Misery.
"Opportunity gets me moving. Great idea, then I went to sleep and I woke up and that sh*t was in my dream. Now I wrote, the Black Ocean's Eleven," Foxx said. "I just rewrote Misery," he added.
The actor told Men's Health's Gerrick Kennedy that the inspiration for the remake on King's psychological horror came from an encounter he had with a couple who won an evening with him through a charity auction fundraiser.
"You know what an actor loves more than money? Compliments. I was supposed to be there for 30 minutes. I ended up staying there for two hours –– doing sh*t from Ray. But then it got weird. So I built on that," the actor said, though he didn't dish further on the encounter.
King's classic psychological thriller follows famed author Paul Sheldon who is saved from a the wreckage of a car accident by a nurse Annie Wilkes who happens to be his "biggest fan." The author soon figures out that he's being held captive and has to act fast to stay alive.
While there's no word yet on when this latest adaptation will make it to theaters, fans of the actor should be on the lookout for a slate of new projects and his memoir, Act Like You Got Some Sense scheduled to be released on October 19.
