Sportscaster Bomani Jones has announced the launch of a new sports show, Game Theory With Bomani Jones. According to Variety, the show will "examine timely issues in the world of sports." Production of the show is set to begin in New York next year

“Bomani is one of the most unique journalists working today. He’s someone who gets that sports stories are often about race, politics, economics and gender, and sees a wider view that goes beyond what happens on the field. We are thrilled to be able to work with him and know that Game Theory will deliver provocative, insightful and funny stories that you don’t hear too often in popular media,” HBO executive Nina Rosenstein told Variety.

“This is, literally, my professional dream, to have a show like this one on HBO. We have a chance to do something that hasn’t been done before, and I can’t wait to share our work with the world," Jones added.

Despite recent reports, Jones is expected to remain with ESPN for the foreseeable future. He will continue to host his podcast, The Right Time With Bomani Jones, and appear on shows such Debatable and Around The Horn.

"I'm thrilled that I'll be able to star my new endeavor with HBO while also continuing with ESPN - where I've been lucky enough to work for most of my career. I'm appreciative for every opportunity I've had so far, and I thank Norby Williamson and Jimmy Pitaro for allowing me to explore other challenges the last 18 months that have made these new opportunities happen," Jones shared.
