Simone Biles and her NFL sweetheart Jonathan Owens are officially engaged! The couple posted Tuesday (February 15) to Instagram, announcing the happy news.
"THE EASIEST YES" the gymnastics star captioned the proposal photo, showing the Houston Texans safety getting on one knee.
"I can’t wait to spend forever & ever with you, you’re everything I dreamed of and more! let’s get married FIANCÉ," she added in the caption.
In an statement to the Black Information Network, Shane Co jewelers buyer Amanda Trevizo revealed that the hand-picked oval-shaped diamond engagement ring is valued between $125,000 and $250,000 and features a "beautiful hidden halo in either white gold or platinum setting."
"Her delicate pave band has diamonds on all three sides which really adds a ton of sparkle. This diamond is estimated to be 4-5 carats," Trevizo said.
Simone and Jonathan started dating at the start of the Covid-19 pandemic after matching on Raya. Owens admitted that he didn't even realize who Simone was at the time.
"I just hadn't heard of her, and when I told her that, that's one of the things she liked," Owens told Texas Monthly in June 2021.
More details about the proposal were posted on Jonathan's Instagram account, who thanked the people who helped surprise Simone.
"She really had no clue what was coming 😂 " the 26-year-old St. Louis, Missouri native wrote.
