Love is in the air and proudly gracing magazine covers!

Niecy Nash and Jessica Betts made history in the upcoming issue of Essence, becoming the first same-sex couple to grace the iconic publication's cover. The actress and her wife have been married nearly two years and put their love on full display for the March/April issue.

"Making H E R S T O R Y 💫👑🖤" the Claws actress wrote on Instagram. "Thank you @essence for choosing The 𝐁𝐞𝐭𝐭𝐬 as your FIRST same sex couple to cover you magazine!"

On Jessica's account, she shared her own post, writing, "H E R S T O R Y 🦋 Thank you @essencefor allowing L❤️ve to win! First #SameSex couple to Ever grace the Cover 👽🙏🏾"

The Betts opened up about their journey to love and their current happiness.

"The least of my attraction is gender," Nash told Essence's Demetria L. Lucas. "What I was and am still attracted to is Jessica's soul. She was the most beautiful soul I had ever met in my life. Now that I've experienced it, I can't imagine going through life without it."

The pair first connected on social media in 2015 while Niecy was still married to ex-husband Jay Tucker. Once they split, her friendship with Jessica became romantic.

"Not only was it challenging for me to realize that I'm having feelings for a woman that I've normally had for a man, but it was compounded by the fact that this is my friend," Nash explained. "I thought, 'What I do not want to do is anything that would allow this person to not be in my life for the rest of my life.'"

Their full story is available HERE and the magazine will hit shelves on Tuesday (March 1).
