Kobe Bryant's estate reached a new deal with Nike that will honor the late NBA legend's legacy, the company and Bryant's widow, Vanessa Bryant announced Thursday (March 24).

Under the new long-term deal, Nike will continue to produce footwear and apparel through Bryant's Zoom Kobe series, and include the couple's late daughter, Gigi Bryant, under the contract, too.

"We're excited to announce our partnership with Nike is going to continue!" Vanessa Bryant wrote in an Instagram post. "I am so proud that my husband's shoes are still the most worn by players on NBA courts and that the demand for his shoes remain so desired by his fans around the world."

The announcement comes almost a year after Kobe's initial endorsement deal with Nike expired, and Vanessa reiterated that the focus of this renewed partnership is about Kobe and Gigi's legacy through sports.

"With this new partnership, fans will soon be able to have access to Kobe and Gigi Nike products for years to come and with Nike donating 100% of the net proceeds yearly for Gianna's shoes to our Mamba and Mambacita Sports Foundation," the caption reads.

"I'm also grateful that Nike and I will work together to establish a youth basketball center in Southern California that will share the Mamba Mentality with youth athletes for generations to come. I know that this is an inspiring moment for my husband and daughter's global fans, and I am very appreciative of each and every one of you!"

According to ESPN, nearly 20% of all NBA players have worn Kobe's Nike sneaker for a game since he, Gigi Bryant and seven others died in a helicopter crash in January 2020. The NBA legend joined Nike in 2003 after a short time with Adidas.
