Mike Tyson is breaking his silence on the flight fight that went down on a JetBlue Airways plane Wednesday night (April 20).

TMZ broke the news early Thursday (April 21) after obtaining video footage of the boxer repeatedly punching another passenger in the face on a flight that was scheduled to leave out of San Francisco and head to Florida. Witnesses say the 55-year-old champ posed for photos with the man and other passengers before taking his seat.

Reps for the boxer revealed to the outlet that the man –– who was seated behind Tyson –– actually threw a water bottle before Tyson started punching him.

"Unfortunately, Mr. Tyson had an incident on a flight with an aggressive passenger who began harassing him," Tyson's reps' statement to TMZ reads. The reps added that the man "threw a water bottle at him while he was in his seat."

According to witnesses who saw the incident, Tyson exited the plane seconds after punching the man. While the man sought medical attention for his bloodied face and law enforcement agents.

Authorities have not publicly commented on the situation and Tyson is due in Miami Thursday night (April 21) for a marijuana industry event.
